With cameras on their backs, adventurers explored the wilds of Tasmania. By 1905, for example, photographs of Great Lake, Lake St Clair, the summit of Ben Lomond and Cradle Mountain were taken enabling Tasmanians to develop a visual image, for the first time, of how the island looked.
