Taglioni, Marie - Playbill Theatre Royal, London, 1837 Programs Special Sections Composers Performing 28 November 1900Swedish born star ballerina (1804 1884), one of the greatest ballet dancers in the 19th century and a fundamental figure in the history of ballet dancing. Her father created La Sylphide in 1832 for her. Original vintage playbill announcement for a performance at Theatre Royal in London, 1837, with Marie Taglioni performing La Sylphide, her brother Paul is also in the cast.
