This collaborative piece brought together two of our most popular series: my map paintings and Michele's sheet music aspen trees

I really wanted to get some movement and energy with the splash

Bird's Nest in a Corner  - A love of birds and a lifetime of collecting nests was the inspiration for this charming little piece of nature

Gold colored raised metal is used on the horizon line to embellish the reproduction

Black Waterfall 24" x 60" (original artwork) Night Scene Aspen Grove is a oneBlack Waterfall is an original mixed media wall art on a birch wood panel. The water is acid oxidized copper paint to make it patina. The background is trowelled and polished black venetian plaster. The silver edging is a "Molten Metal" process that we developed. Both are antiqued with tar and a drizzle of epoxy over the copper patina water makes it appear to be flowing as the light plays across it. This piece can be hung vertically or horizontally.
