but instead of using colored pencils to make my hand look like a cartoonish turkey I filled in the outline with pieces of wire that I found on the lakefront near an old demolished steel mill

and from there the other pieces were placed to fill out the square

There was no snow on the ground nor was there much colorful junk to be found, but parts of the beach were littered with driftwood.
