Embroidery Sampler in Blue and Pink Sally Cratis 1808 Flower Thread pack for ElizabethThis sampler is quite unusual as it uses only embroidery stitches. No alphabets or motifs. it is the only like it I have ever come across. it dates late 1800s early 1900s. It is such a happy sampler. It is in great condition, most likely a schoolgirl exercise in various embroidery stitches. The sampler came from England. There are no makers marks. Stitched with cotton on a fine linen base and hemmed on all sides. it is quite small and measures only 8.
