Soft Cell-inspired 'Tainted Love' v2 Art Print Blue Peter or Til Tuesday'Tainted Love' was originally written by Ed Cobb of the group the Four Preps, and released as a single by Gloria Jones in 1964, but my generation ('X') first encountered it as a cover version by Soft Cell in 1981. My version 1 is a nod to the AIDS zeitgeist at that time, but this second version is more conventional, and about heartbreak more than dirty needles. It's a well known retro vintage pulp paperback cover. If you're a fan of 80s new wave, or
