Caol Ila 'North Star' 9 years old 51.8% Berry Bros. & Rudd An under-appreciated whisky from theDistilled in 2009 at the Caol Ila distillery, this new cask strength bottling comes from independent bottlers North Star. Selected by Iain Croucher from a single ex refill bourbon hogshead, this whisky was then further matured in a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask. Iain's characterful tasting notes describe an aroma that few would know, but could easily relate to a humidor in an old smoking room of a hotel (specifically the Malmaison in Glasgow in the
